upgrade bunk "pad"/mattress-365SAQB
Recently purchased a 2013 Sandpiper 365SAQB. The stock mattresses in the bunkhouse SUCK. Might as well just sleep on the OSB :-) By my measurements, the smaller ones are 32x74 and the larger are 44x74. These widths do not seem common. On the length, I could prob squeeze a 75. Any suggestions for upgraded bunkhouse mattresses? The OEM ones really are unacceptable. There will be adult sized people using them.
Thanks
PS-The other thing is that the lower one by the bathroom has one corner cut off (to clear the door). Not sure I can do anything with that bunk.

On our last camper, it was a bunkhouse, we just bought a good foam topper and cut it to fit the beds and installed it on top of the factory foam. It worked good for our grown kids.

Custom cut foam from The Foam Factory. I have bought from them for all 3 bunk mattresses and new dinette cushions.

We bought a futon mattress for our grey wolf 26 dbh. Had 2 adults sleeping on it all weekend. Gonna cut and sew the corner at the bathroom door.

We currently in the same boat with our 365.
Currently the lower bunk has the mattress for the "trundle" on it so it is twice as thick. We just moved the kiddos around and are using the top bunk across from the kitchen. There is a local foam shop in town I need to visit to see if they will cut something for me to fit. Otherwise, I'll be investigating the link that Ependydad posted.

Ordered one from foam factory. Got the 4" Lux R. Was $82. Will let you know what we think of it. If we like it, we'll order the other three

I have a local foam place I need to check with to see if they can beat those prices. If they aren't able to I know where I'll be looking

For our bunk in our Flagstaff 27BESS, we ordered a futon mattress that my 6'2" and over 250# son slept on. He said it was as good as his bed at home, if not better. I'll see if I can find what it was.

These sizes are crazy. I hate to pay for custom. What are the chances I could "fudge" an extra inch or two of mattress into the bunks?

The factory pads are really soft (pushes right through to the wood) on ours. We're yours like that, or too firm? Did you just put this on top of other?

Maybe not quite that bad, but bad enough that it was very uncomfortable. we have an adult son who sleeps there.
After getting that pad, I think I could even sleep there. It made 100% difference. What even made it better, he took the top bunk pad and put in under the bottom, and now he is sleeping like a king

I hope it works out for you, and you like it as much as we do.

Can you tell me the size of that pad? I would like to get them for my bunkhouse also.
Thanks
