I gave up on camper speakers and bought a nice Braven Bluetooth speaker that has a battery that will play 12 hrs and give me enough sound that I play it half way up to stay nice with the neighbors in case they don't like my Classic Rock/Blues/Country mix taste in music.

$100 and I can take it camping or anywhere else I want to. And it's waterproof!

Agree with other posters. Don't bother with upgrading speakers. This one is portable, waterproof, sounds very good, and can charge your phone while playing music: https://www.amazon.com/JBL-Portable-.../dp/B07HKQ6YGX

Plus, you have way more control over the volume if you want to sit by the fire late into the evening and not disturb your fellow campers.

They had a $399 Monster brand bluetooth unit that was refurbished on Woot.com a while back for $69. I bought one and love it. It can crank out way more sound than I will ever need and I can stream my Amazon Music connection to it via blue tooth. I've been listening to it while I'm working on the RV lately.

Difficult to find speakers that size that have quality sound. At home we don't rely on one speaker cone to cover the spectrum. Even in the not so affordable $ range this size just doesn't reproduce a wide spectrum of sound efficiently. There isn't enough resilience in that narrow diameter to give good lows and the other frequencies are muddied as well. BT capable multi speaker setups give you the sound without having to crank the volume just to hear all the sounds. With BT I can put the sound where I want it... a neighbor pleasing redirection of sound back into my camp instead of blasting it outward to others.

The other benefit using a phone or tablet and BT is I have Sirius Radio, Amazon Music, PLaystation VUE, my purchased music synced in Google Play along with my playlists on Spotify ALL AVAILABLE and volume can be adjusted quickly, muted or paused.
If we are going to be listening and hanging around camp all day, I setup a canvas camp table near my outlet under the awning and plug a charger in for my phone or tablet, which ever one one I want to use as the jukebox.

Better sound, better control and easy access to whatever I want to listen to. Sports, Music, Talk, News, even TV broadcasts and watch on the tablet if there's a breaking news story, severe weather threat or a sports event I can't miss.

We have the same issue (and lots of BT spkrs). BT is good for all the reasons you mention but I wanted to use the RV sound system as well.

The speaker can be easily replaced with a marine-grade speaker. To figure out the size and impedance you will likely have to remove it. I just did the same this past weekend.

Likely it is. mounted with screws and butyl tape (gummy stuff).

After removing the screws, gently pry the speaker off the wall. The butyl tape is an effective waterproof seal but will yield to gentle pressure (clean residue with mineral spirits). The brand, model number and impedance will likely be on the back of the speaker. You can then measure the hole diameter and depth you have to work with.

Once you select your speaker, also get Dicor butyl tape so you can seal the screws and speaker to the wall.

Amazon is your friend for both items.

We love having a BT speaker . Not only is it good for around the campsite, but we always carry it with us while walking and hiking the trails

Thx chaps.....we have our Bose bt speaker as well. And yes is great for having around the campground. Again, just was asking if the bt speaker was at the beach and I'm at the campsite, would like a little better sound..... Little is the keyword for a speaker that small. Chaps, would you know off hand the size of that little speaker? 5¼ or smaller? Thx again guys
