Question Using Awning Cradle Supports

I have a 2010 Rockwood 2607 and was wondering if there is a need to purchase a cradle support for the awning? Here is an example of what I'm referring to: Awning Cradle Support - Item - Camping World Not for sure if it's something that I should definitely get or Is a waste of money. Let me know.

If your awning is 18 feet or less I would not bother with a cradle support.

Like the above post said. I had a very long awning once and had the center support work very well. Seemed to do more good to stop the rod from bouncing when traveling than anything else.
