Clearance lights for show at campground

So thought I would ask how many people out there use the trick of putting a wire in the two top pins of the 7 pin harnes when they are parked?? My dad always did this to have his lights on at night. I was thinking about making a little box that I would mount to the trailer and plug the connector into that and have a switch and use it to protect the plug while not in use.

Any thoughts?

I know of a few people who have done it. Some even connect a flash to make clearance lights flash. Looks cool, but gets kind of annoying at times.

Myself, I wouldn't do it. I like keeping happy neighbors.

I second that. I had a camper next to me do that all weekend one time.

i like it , but think you should shut them off before it gets to late, i have more of a problem with some coleman lanterns and 12 million lumen flashlights they are selling.

Flashing clearance lights are good for

1. Roadside emergency
2. Medical emergency in a campground
3. Anoying everybody

Clearance lights on solid are good for

1. Setting up in the dark
2. Helping friends/visitors find you, since all RVs look sort of the same
3. Anoying some but not all people

Radio,
I run mine while camping I do not flash them, That would get on my nerves.
I wired a cheap 7 pin RV plug and just plug them in.
I have had more poeple ask how I did it. than people complain about them.
I shut them off at night I am think about installing a timer.

Think Spring

I understand, and that's fine. They're not enough really to bother people unless your jamb up against each other. Of course, some people look for a reason to be bothered.

But you know, If I had heart trouble or was a diabetic, I'd keep one of those flasher things handy so the EMS people could find me.

I'll agree with you there.......seems as though I always get the one next to me that leaves them on all night.

We call those scare lights for a reason. I'm not shy I will knock on the door
and ask them to turn them off. Most of the time they just forgot about them.

Think Spring,
