Vent covers white black or smoke?

Other than the way they look from the outside are there pros and cons to different colors? Opinions?

White will let the most light in, black the least... Smoke in the middle. I find that a LOT of heat and cold comes through my vents and have blocked them off with reflextix insulation (I have white vents). If I had a do over I;d do black just to keep out the heat. I do not need the light, that is what LEDs were made for. BUT, the black will get hotter... So all my thought might be for not, welcome BTW.

Just pick a color,we chose white! We also chose MaxAirII covers for all our Vents, power and Non power! MaxAir Fan Mates are also a New Option for Power or Non power vents! I see you have a PT Crusader,Rockwood/Flagstaff now install MaxAir covers at the Factory,The vent LIDs are very thin and their Life span is Very short, cover them all! Also Highly recommend Inside vent cushions for (1 noise reduction,2 repel Summer Heat entering,3 Prevent Heat Loss in Cold conditions,4 block Bright Sunlight! Youroo!!

Had white on the old TT, because TT was white. This one(emerald edition) came with black Max Air IIs on 2 out of the 3 and installed smoke Max Air II on the 1 that I did buy extra, just for looks. It lets in a surprising amount of light (as if it were clear). From looking at it from the ground, you can't really tell that they aren't all black. What looks good to you?

We have smoke covers on our Crusader

We also have those vent pillows to put in each one - kitchen one is never used, pillow in place 24/7 (cannot reach vent anyway)

all the vent covers are translucent no matter the color,
they don't block the sun, they just defuse it and we didn't like that,
on three different vent cover installs, before installing I've always taped off and protected the top side of the vent cover, and then sprayed the underside w/several coats of flat black paint to create a true sun block,
on the two white covers, I then applied a coat of white over the black and they both looked just like they did originally, except then they were a true sun block cover,
blocking both sun and heat,
if I ever install another vent cover, I'll repeat the process every time, we like the results

Black on ours as all the trim on the trailer is black. They are made by Camco and they are NOT translucent. They are a solid black with no light whatsoever coming through them.

since your post is a direct reply to mine I will answer in this way.....I suppose I should have said...."all the vent covers I HAVE DEALT WITH were translucent no matter the color".....I've installed three, two whites and one black, ....all were Camco brand and all were translucent, not a true sun block until I had sprayed several coats of black paint to the inside surface,........that's a trick I learned to make my truck's "Auto Ventshades" a true sun blocker and not just a sun shade..... it was very annoying to have the afternoon sun to shine thru my Auto Ventshades as I would drive home from work, .....I found that after a good coat of paint to the under side I had a true sun blocker, not just a translucent sun shade........and it worked the same with the three trailer vent covers that I've installed......

On our old tt we had the max air II vents. We had a white one over the bathroom and a smoke one over the bedroom. The white one was cheaper. The smoke one let in a little less light and we could see out the vent over the bed better. We let them go with the old tt. The fiver has a black one over the bathroom vent because that was the color they had. I like the black one the least but it doesn't really matter. Get the one that matches your trailer the best. Here is a pic of my old tt. The front grey hump is the smoke cover. You can see the rear white one easier from the single the pic was taken.

I had white ones on our Sierra along with the vent pillows with the reflective foil on one side. Did a great job keeping heat and cold out. I also installed the Vent Stik knobs on the vents, as most were taller than I could reach. The Stik helped with installing and pulling the pillows out also.
