Victron 700BMV Install

A friend of mine talked me into installing a Victron 700BMV battery monitor in our new Surveyor. I'm totally impressed with it. You put in your total amp/hrs of your battery bank and it measures amp/hrs used. It thereby determines the percent of charge remaining in your battery bank. It also show amp draw. So, you can switch things on, one at a time, and determine the amp draw of everything in the trailer. When charging, it measure amp/hrs returned to the battery bank and shows the amp rate of charge. No more guessing about usage and state of charge. This thing is awesome.

They are awesome. I just installed the 702 version which allows monitoring the voltage of a second battery. I also installed AGM group 31 batteries replacing the flooded group 27's that were off-gassing and setting off the LP/CO detector.

I use the aux input to monitor the chassis battery.

Should be a great addition to the Motorhome.
