Wallpaper Border Removal

We are going to paint our TT interior. The wallpaper border needs to be removed to make the paint look right. Is there anything special that needs to be done to remove it?

Are you sure that's an applied border, or is it printed into the wallpaper?

While I haven't taken a fingernail to ours, I'm pretty sure it's just a printed border.

Try a hair dryer and apply heat and see if it peels off. If not you can get a steamer at any of the home improvement stores to do the job

No, I'm not sure it's an applied border. I really hope it is not. TT is in storage and won't come out for at least a month. I'm trying to make mental preparations to do some major mods. I want to make sure TT. mods don't get in the way of my fishing.

Wallpaper remover normally works pretty well. However, if the border won't come up without shredding and leaving part of it on the wall, then just leave it. Take some joint compound and smooth the edges and paint over it.

Anything you try, do it in a small obscure area first.

A heat gun works the best. It took my wife 30 minutes to remove the borders in the kitchen and bedroom
