Water filter Mod

I just posted pics of a mod I did on my new flagstaff. I was winterizing and realized that the factory water filter was great but in a poor spot. There was no way I could not spill or make a mess. It is located in the bedroom and there is carpet everywhere. The other problem with the factory filter is it is a special filter not available everywhere.

Solution:
I bypassed the factory filter and removed it. I then purchased a whole house filter housing at a local home improvement store. Along with the housing a got a schedule 80 PVC nipple, a closet flange, a schedule 40 PVC tee, a clevis pin, and a 4" u-bolt and bracket. You can see how it came together. Pull the clevis pin and remove. The filters are available at several retail stores, hardware stores, and home improvement stores. Not only having a great availability, the cost of filter media is much cheaper. The mess is outside the RV! Check out the Mod in my pics.

Yup. I removed the inside filter and use the external Camco charcoal filter. Very simple and cheap.
