water heater electric element switch
My rv has only one place to turn off the water heater electric element and thats outside under the access panel.
my other three had a switch inside the coach.
so saturday when it was cold as a freezer outside i wired up a second swith that interupts the power flow to the mainwater heart cord and now i have a nice switch inside behind the cork board panel.
i basically can shut down the HOT to the power supply.

My brother in law done the same thing and some day I will have time to do this mod to my unit.

Great job. One suggestion, put in some sort of covered safety switch. Reason - if you happen to use your camper after you have winterized and drained your water heater, you will burn out the heating element very quickly if someone accidentally reaches up there and turns that switch to on.

for us non-fulltimers that's a great idea Richard. Robert is a fulltimer so he's in his rig a lot

thats a good idea/ i have just the safety flipper to.
like all them switches? i couldnt beleive how unorganized they are from the factory, they had the generator start panel under the bathroom sink of all places

Speaking of which, this doesn't actually qualify as a 'mod', but I noticed that in their wisdom, FR mounted the kitchen light switch - the one you grope for in the dark when entering the trailer - right beside the slide toggle. After a couple of inadvertant slide activations, I installed a cover over the slide toggle - kind of a safety flipper, but fashioned out of a clear plastic container for a 'gummy-candy' that my son had. Surprisingly nice looking and you don't even really notice it.
