the water goes to from middle of camper to front then to shower then to kitchen. why not move to back of camper and conserve water and get hot water faster.

I can't imagine the minuscule amount of time you would save getting hot water slightly faster would be worth the time/effort or expense of moving your water heater.

Maybe not time but water. Ok at a full hook up site, but what about boondocking. Every little bit you can Dave helps.

Maybe... but when boondocking, wouldn't you want more water? Shorting the lines would make less.

Anyway, the trailer is only around 30 feet long overall. So you may be moving the heater what? 20 feet? How much time or water can you really save and would it even be noticeable?

Then you have to 1) find a place to put it in it's new spot 2) cover up the hole from the previous spot and 3) re-run all the water lines.

I'll stick with my opinion that it's way too much time and effort for little to no reward.

I just do see any benefit to moving the water heater, either.

Unless maybe he wants to put a kegerator in it's place!

It would be interesting to know why, but he hasn't been back.

I think that it will be just a matter of getting used to it...

In campers...navy showers are the norm.

Just throwing this out there but if you are really having that much trouble getting hot water, make sure your bypass valves are set correctly. I've never had to wait more than a few seconds to get hot water out of any of my faucets.

It would be so much easier to catch that wasted water in a bucket, pour it into a funnel in a 5 gallon gas-type can, then pour it back into the FW tank once a day. I could not imagine how much effort would go into moving or even installing new water lines into an assembled trailer...

Unfortunately, I can’t help with the moving the water tank idea.

But, there’s a device called the “ShowerMiser” that diverts cool water back to the fresh water tank until it’s hot.

Maybe consider that:

Rather than move the WH just run a second hot water line from the WH to the faucet, tee the line to original hot water line right next to the faucet and the cold line at the WH. Install a small 12v recirc pump. Turn the pump on for 15 seconds and bingo bango instant hot water.

On my 27 RLSS the water heater is directly below the kitchen sink and it is nice to have near instant hot water. However I could not justify the labor to move it where it located elsewhere. Sorry that I can't offer ideas on the move.

Instead of moving your water heater, why not just add another?

I still think that you just need to learn how to take short showers...

It's all part of the camping experience...
