Water pump advice

I'm looking for advice on water pumps. I was looking at them in Camping world and the prices are all over the place. I want a quiet pump, pressure is not an issue. Are the more expensive pumps any quieter then the OEM pumps the trailer manufacturers install? Is it worth upgrading to a new more expensive pump?

I have the Shurflo classic series pump and put some rubber grommets under the feet where the screws attach it the floor and it helped quiet it down by half or better. could try that and see if it works for you.

I have a Shurflo and I did the same thing and mounted with medium hard rubber grommets about a 1/2" thick. It sure made a big difference on the noise. And a check valve and self priming (which most are) are a must IMHO.

While you're in there adding the rubber grommets get some foam
pipe insulation. It's slit longways and easy to cut into short pieces.
Look for anywhere a water line is possibly
touching a wall, floor, bulkhead, water tank etc..... Put foam on the
area that might be touching. Fasten with zip ties or just recycled twist
ties. Have someone run a little water while you watch the water lines.
Notice how they jump in tune to the beat of the water pump??
Make SURE they can't drum on anything around them!
Remember, if it's moving it's probably making noise. Secure as many as
you can with foam and you'll probably notice a big improvement.

Good Luck!

My experience is similar.

The OEM pump could definitely be quieter, but 90% of the noise is mounting and pipes.

The plumbing is the noise maker. Adding an air chamber helps as well.

Amazon.com: SHURflo Accumulator Tank: Automotive

It is an easy mod. I replaced my "whole camper" water filter with one and never looked back. I use an inline filter on the spigot at campgrounds that use well water to remove silt.

I mounted mine on a mouse pad, it cushions well.

I also installed a ShurFLO accumulator tank.

I left the supply line long enough to coil it a few times before it feeds the water the tank.
