Water Worker Accumulator

I previously replaced my water filter with a Shurflo Expansion bottle, but the volume of water dispensed prior to the pump coming on was not very much.
(Basically a 1 or 2 second flush).

I wanted more water before the pump ran so was looking to install a bigger expansion pressure tank. The Water Worker 2 gallon tank looked like the way to go. Water Worker - Water Heater Expansion Tank

I removed the Shurflo Tank by unscrewing the connections I made when I took out the old water filter and the tank came right out.

The new tank plumbing was done with all Sharkbite press on connectors and a section of PEX I keep in the camper.

Total install time was about 1 hour start to finish.

I just bought the exact same tank through Amazon. Cold here in Iowa so I will probably wait until spring to install. Question, did you install with the tank on its side or vertical with the inlet at the bottom. I bought a drop ear tee so I could install vertically and screw it to the floor. Also plan to use pex and shark bite connections to hook up. Anything else you can alert me to be aware of? Thanks

The important thing is access to the Shrader Valve at the end of the tank and the ability to drain the plumbing when winterizing.

In my installation mounting it vertically in my 5th wheel's front basement would have been a plumbing nightmare and I would not have had easy access to the valve and would have had to attach it to its own drain valve.

I mounted it on its side and strapped it to the roof of the compartment.

The rubber bladder goes all the way to the end of the fitting when empty, so the only water that needs to be drained is in the pipe itself. Since I mounted it on the roof of the compartment, I was able to angle the pipe so it drains with the rest of the plumbing.

I would have to try and remember how to solder pipe joints again. Ugh.

I did the same thing with a spare pressure tank from my well somewhere around 2006. I removed the tank from the last fifth wheel when we traded it and added it to the new one before our first trip. Never regretted it.

Pex is so much easier than copper even without Sharkbites.
Tools a little costly but once you have them they will pay for them selves.

I used 30 PSI. As to tools you only need the shear.

The Sharkbite fittings do not use the rings and crimp.
They just push on and you are done.

If you use (Pink RV) fluid in your lines also,place a shutoff valve on discharge side of pressure tank,after draining tank,close valve to keep pink out of tank. Youroo!!

That is an excellent idea. Late; but excellent.

There will be a valve in that line next year.

Wouldn't you put the shutoff on the line prior to the tank so the antifreeze didn't get to the tank. Maybe I don't understand what you mean by the discharge side of the tank. A diagram would be fantastic. Appreciate your help as I don't want to mess this up

There is only (1) inlet-outlet on the bladder tank. Youroo!!

Youroo and Herk, could you take a look at this diagram and see if you think it will work. I am not a plumbing expert by any stretch of the imagination so any help would be appreciated.

I know Sharbites don't use crimp rings. My meaning was when doing a whole trailer or house they can get expensive. I have the tools because of this. A Sharkbite 1/2 Tee is $10.25 a pex tee is $1.95, A Sharkbite 1/2 elbow is $7.50 pex elbow $1.50. Redid a whole house last winter, hate to see what it would have cost using Sharkbites. I have used Sharkbites for quick repairs.
