My wife and I have a 2016 Cherokee 274RKS travel trailer. It came with the accordion pull down shades. They are day shades only. No night shades.
We are looking to upgrade them (a bed sheet would be an upgrade!
) and can't decide between MCD duo day/night rollers and 2" faux cordless blinds (the kind you lift like day/night shades) with the wand to angle them.
What she wants (I guess I do too obviously, since I'm still married) is a way to cut down on the heat of the day, and be able to look out the window without all the heat from the sun coming in.
I read a bunch of threads of 2", or 1" for that matter, blinds vs the day/night shades, but not much comparing the MCD to the 2" faux wood blinds.
It seems the MCD duo rollers are the easiest to use, however the 2" blinds give you the ability to turn them so the direct sunlight doesn't come in at all. The MCD day shade is supposed to have some type of solar blocking ability though. Thought of looking into a ceramic window tint along with the 2" blinds too. I think the 2" faux wood blinds would look a lot nicer. She is afraid of the weight of them over time of pulling them up in the winter for a clear view and getting some warmth from the sun.
We have our camper on an RV lot we own in NE Georgia (love the Smoky Mountains), so we don't move it. No rattle from moving down the road.
Soooooo.......for the sake of argument, assume the cost is about the same. What would you choose and why?
