Who has put laminate flooring in their travel trailer with a slideout?

We have a 2008 rockwood 8315SS and want to get rid of the carpet all together.

My only worry is the slideout. By looking at how the slides travel over the carpet, seems like it should work. I just can't find anyone who has attempted this project yet.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I haven't done it in a trailer before but it shouldn't be any different than in a house. Seems like a relatively easy project. May need to glue down the edges so they don't "float" as much. Otherwise I see no reason to not do it.

i did my main area of the rv with the vinyl composite stuff called "allure" home depot has it, i did the slides and the main floor. the only thing is the leave enough room for the slide to pop up and over it and then you have to make a trim board for the slide to main room joint so you cover up the ugly ramp and nylon pieces

3/16" thick
they come 3' x 6" strips and glue to each other vice the floor, so once it sets the glue its actually one pice of heavy vinyl stuff.
pretty durable i amight add to , my pups havent damaged it yet

Really nice job on the flooring. We replaced most of the carpet in our old Fleetwood with the laminate wood flooring and we love it. It is so much easier to clean up, doesn't trap odors like carpet and is much more "upscale" looking.

Our new Georgetown MH arrives any day now and I know that in time the wife will want the wood flooring in it too when the carpet gets old. My only concern was how to work it into the slides and your pictures help to answer the question that it can be done.

Oh my goodness, that is my DREAM floor! I just bought my first trailer and boy, I can't tell you how disappointed I was to find out that almost all of the trailers I had seen online didn't have laminated wood flooring, but vinyl made to LOOK like laminated. So disappointing!

My dream is to have laminated wood installed throughout. The sales guy said they "have to" put carpeting under where the slideout is though for a reason I can't remember. Seems silly to me-what purpose does the carpeting serve? I just dislike the "half vinyl, half carpet" look down the middle of the trailer.
