Hoss I just used wood screws to put it together. By no means is it for support, mainly just for a bump stop, while it does feel sturdy. Mattress is about 3" thick and the plywood underlayment is 3/4". It serves its purpose. Didn't want to attach so it's easy to change sheets.

Bigdnro. I removed the inner trim ring form inside. I cleaned it then took some tint I bought from lowes (darkening tint) and applied. Then I put back together. I used same tint for front door.
