Winegard Wingman

Anyone use the Winegard Wingman for strengthening DTV signals on the standard Winegard Antenna?

I've been using it for awhile now and it seems to help out with some of the channels that use to pixelate (some still do but not as often as it use to). The signal is more directional so I find I got to adjust antenna depending on where the station are located and to get the best picture, over all I think it helps some I've tried this at home and different campground that didn't have cable hookup

I'm using that set up now, and it does improve the digital signal. Before, I was getting digital freezes on some stations in some areas, and I've seen a noticable improvement with the wingman accessory. HOWEVER; if you're contemplating purchasing one of these, go on your roof and check to see if you have room- you'll need about a foot of clearance towards the awning side of your rig when the antenna is in the DOWN position. They are very simple to install, the most you'll need is a pair of pliers. Randy

I already ordered one. Clearance isn't really an issue with me. My antenna never really gets lowered. I'm hoping it stops some of the freeze ups and pixelation interuptions.
I miss analog already!

I've used my new wingman once and it did help. I still have to turn the antenna almost every time I change the channel but the picture will improve. and I do pickup more channels at the local campground(at least more PBS and religous programming) Why does Montgomery Alabama need 7 religous channels??? If you aint gonna watch the first 2 or 3....

Here's a cool link:
http://www.fcc.gov/mb/engineering/maps/

You can search an address, zip code and find the channels in the area...and the signal strength. Nice.

I have it installed, and it helps with my reception VERY WELL! I can now watch most stations without annoying freeze ups! Great product, easy to install.

We have a bunch here in Atlanta, too. Of the selection, I think 2 of them are pretty good. I guess it all goes back to that Founding Father stuff about our basic freedoms, speech, religion, thought and all that. Nobody makes me/prevents me from watching what I want.

I just wish some of the better news organizations would put some 24 hour news stuff up on "on air digital TV" but that would probably annoy the cable operators.

To get back on topic, after I get a job, and before we go on our next trip, I'm going to get a wingman, and some other goodies. Having an understanding of antenna theory I can look at it and tell it will help. But I have to take their word as to how much.

Glad you mentioned that...so I went and checked...I'm good!

All I need now is a job to get toy money....and then no time to camp for going to work.

Sometimes, you can't catch a break.
