To get it to work, I setup my hard drive with a built in wireless access point and connect both the iPad and wireless camera to it. I originally had this hard drive to store all my movies\music on and can stream them to the iPad, basically 500GB of storage instead of the 16GB on the iPad.
The only thing I have added is the Foscam wireless webcam. It has an IP address on the wireless network and I can browse to it with the web browser on the iPad. From the website of the camera you can control pan, tilt, zoom etc.

I am going to try and put the camera looking out the rear window, the hard drive in the bedroom of the 5er and have the iPad in the truck. I am thinking that all devices should be able to hit the wireless access point that way. It will be a while before I can test it however, so right now it’s just a crazy idea
