Yada wireless camera from Costco

Costco has a Yada wireless backup camera with a 5" display. Starting tomorrow it's $99, $20 off. I'm thinking of giving it a try. I'll probably tie it to the running lights so I can use it as a rear view camera. If it doesn't work I can return it.

Azjerry- let me know how it works out for you. My problem may be the range as my trailer alone is at 31'.

I checked the reviews for a Yada camera with a 4" display on Amazon. They were mostly positive. Many said it worked fine with trailers of various sizes while a few others said it didn't even work on the length of their vehicle.

Finally got this installed. Picture is clear. I haven't tried it out on a trip yet but did drive the TV several houses away before the signal was lost. Given that range I believe it should work well while under way.

And a final report on my Yada camera from Costco. Got back from our New Year's trip and am happy to report that the camera and monitor worked just fine. Absolutely no interference or breakup of the picture.

I've read on the Yada spec sheet online: "Maximum Signal Range: 30 feet/10Metres" for this camera/monitor setup. are you getting more? I'm thinking I need a range of at least 60ft.

I was worried about the range as well but figured that since it came from Costco I could return it.

After installation on the trailer I drove the truck about two houses away before the picture started to break up. The picture was rock steady when actually towing. The trailer is about 25 feet and the truck is a 5.5 foot crew cab.

azjerry, Your camera is the Yada Wireless Backup Camera with 5” Dash Monitor correct? It worked two houses away, then I should work on the back of a 35 ft TT with monitor in the cab with no problem. Was concerned on the advertised 50 ft range. Does the camera hardwired to 12 volt? I searched the internet and it looks like they are only available at Costco. Can anyone order online from them or is it for members with a membership only?

thank

Yes, it's the 5 inch version. I found smaller version online, Amazon I think. I hardwired the camera to the trailer running lights which are on when driving my truck. As far as I know you have to be a member.

There might be a problem with the metal siding on a trailer interfering with the signal. My trailer has the fiberglass laminated walls which shouldn't be a problem. Your mileage may vary.

How did you access the running lights for power? It looks like they’re sealed to me.

Since the last post here was over 4 years ago and azjerry hasn't posted for 3 years, you will probably get a quicker response by PMing him.
