You must have been home listening to that rock and roll music that set us back more than 20 years. LOL So was I. Still am.

i do remember the song and have faint memory of doing exercises to it, in 4th-6th grade, in the early 60's.

Oh God! I remember this vividly. Along with the cart that had a wobbly squeaky wheel that someone from the "AV Club" would wheel down to the gym. It was played on what looked like a military issue 45/33/78 rpm record player... at full volume on its burlap covered speaker... it scratched and hissed like a barrel full of snakes as soon as they dropped the needle.

Me too, but when I listened to the song my thought was....

Went from "a chicken in every pot"

to

"go away chicken fat"
"nuts to the flabby guy"

The good School Sisters of Notre Dame might whack your knuckles with a ruler, (or worse ) but they never subjected us to the "Chicken Fat" song at Our Lady, Queen of Peace.

At G.P. Babb Junior High School in 1970 only the girls were made to do the "chicken fat" thing on the other side of the gym from the boys who were playing basketball. Until some of the boys got to poking too much fun. Then we got to do it too!

Our record (and player) must have been in better condition than the one upthread. You could make out every word. Unfortunately. It must have been a new purchase by the PE Dept. just for the "chicken fat" routine.

This predated the "exercise video" which has to be a billion dollar enterprise by now...

HAH! Never though of it in those terms... But hellyeah!

Gotta scratch that hitch itch! Supposed to be 80* here tomorrow. (68* right now and it's almost 8PM!) Hoping this weather holds; there's supposed to be a cool front tomorrow...but only taking us down in to the 40's at night through the weekend.

We're goin' even though DH has to work 1/2 day Saturday...still rampin' up for the dreaded inventory....so he'll commute.

The only thing that'll stop us is if there are severe thunder/lightning storms coming.

And to keep it on topic;

We're not takin' any chicken fat with us!
