Be Careful Around Gas Appliances

A forgetful old gasman named Dieter,
Who went poking around his gas heater,
Touched a leak with his light;
He blew out of sight—
And, as everyone who knows anything about poetry can tell you, he also ruined the meter.

A fellow decided that he wanted to learn how to skydive. After several tandem jumps, he was ready for a solo.

On the jumpmaster's command, he went out the door, counted to three, and pulled the ripcord. Nothing happened. Recalling his instruction, he remained calm, counted to three, and pulled the ripcord on his emergency parachute. Again, nothing.

Now he was starting to get concerned. As he plummeted toward the ground at nearly 200 MPH, he was astounded to see another guy coming up toward him at nearly the same speed.

As they grew nearer, he yelled down, "Hey, do you know anything about parachutes?" The other guy replied, "No. Do you know anything about gas stoves?"

Originally heard that as Coleman camping stoves!
