Bike rack

Walking into the mall today, I chuckled at people's inability to use the bike rack properly.

The problem is, I don't see any kind of sign with instructions on how to use that complicated piece of equipment.

Surprised to see even two bikes there as most kids/people have/are chauffeured everywhere they go these days for their own safety.

I hear ya- but one thing I love about our town is that it is so bike friendly. Daughter and I (before she just broke her arm) were riding a good bit. We were able to ride for 4-5 miles without crossing major streets at street level (there are a handful of tunnels).

Are the locks through the bike's frame? That's probably why they are that way. Thieves just remove a wheel and take the rest of the bike.
Each of my good bikes in college cost more than my car, so I did something like this everyday.

Excellent point The cables on most bike locks are not long enough to reach through the frame of a "male" bike and even the extra long ones have issues with "female" bikes.

I'd like to believe that except for riding thru the mall area that night and seeing a bike that was parallel to the bike rack and blocking every spot except for one on either end. I think people are just gits.

But, I did think the same or with the one up and over being a wheel too big for the rack (don't think it was).

Bet you dollars to donuts, the guy who blocked off that many spots doesn't give hoot what you think, period.

You wouldn't believe how they park bikes in Korea! I've seen them lock their bikes IN the doorway!

Even more complicated is being able to ride those bikes without handlebars.
