camper named WTF!!!!!

So the gf and I have been trying to think of a name for the camper. Getting things ready yesterday I was going to fill the fw tank from hydrant at home where the old house was. The hose got tangled I didn't feel like messing with it so went about doing other things thinking I can pull it up behind new house and fill it there. Got ready to pull it behind the house gf inside goin over list and trying to keep up with the granddaughter. I pull behind house and here SNAP,SNAP,SNAP!!!!! I stop get out thinking WTF? look up and I had caught the power line running from house to the barn and pulled it off the barn side. YEP ITS LAYING ACROSS THE CAMPER!!!! Go into the house cover the granddaughters ears and say I just F'd up. She looks out and says WTF!!!! I shut power off to barn go out get line off camper back up check for damage ( NONE THANKFULLY ) and proceed to untangle hose and fill tank. Why you may ask is this in jokes and humor? Why not is my answer. 97 sierra tt named WTF

I got a laugh out of this - funny you say this cause I have been looking at houses and one of the things I mentioned to my GF was that a few of the houses we looked at had over head power lines and I mentioned to her that the lines would have to be moved or go under ground.

There is a height in the elec code for overhead wires on residential properties - 12' over driveways I believe and it's supposed to be 16' over roads. When buying a house you can bring this up during the home inspection as a lower wire isn't up to code.

When I ran power to my garage 12 years ago (the previous owner had a regular 110 line run across and tied to a tree branch...) I looked at underground - WAY more expensive as you need to dig of course, put it in conduit and running electricity in wires makes the wires hot so wires run 'in air' (as in overhead) can be smaller gage so cheaper than those underground.
12' is close - i've had to hold them up (with a rake or 1x4) to get dumptrucks and such in (for gravel or material delivery).
My TT fits - it clears all the hard stuff but whacks the antenna (which is spring loaded).
I did have a fed ex truck snagged the wire, a big box truck- he didn't see it and stopped just short of pulling it off the house.

Ya when new house was built to the line from old house to barn and just ran it from new house. Its in the backyard not across any drive. I'll be renting a trencher when i get back!! Lol

When I rewired my house up here in the great white north, I had to move the wires to 15' 6" above the driveway for code. The 80 amp line to the garage I ran in conduit underground. So far, no problems.
