I am sure the weight police will pipe in....that Avalanche probably doesn't have the towing capacity for that... Should have a 1 ton dually to do that maneuver!!!

Probably landed on the grass. That's done a lot when float planes need maintenance. Doesn't hurt the floats at all. That takeoff method is also not that unusual. Only need a speed of around 55-60 or so with that airplane. I like the way the pilot dropped the flaps to initiate the takeoff.

Not a problem. As wind resistance goes up, so does the lift! Hardly weighs a thing at 60 mph!

And, even with the trailer, total weight sitting still probably less than 4,000 pounds.

Easy maneuver. Landed in a lake, water taxied to a boat ramp and the truck lifted it out with the flatbed like a bass boat on a trailer. Probably had to be taken to an airport for maintenance, but the lake might not have been big enough for a takeoff so they did it from the trailer. This was cooler anyway!
Or, as mentioned, the plane had pontoons installed at the airport and this was the only way to launch it. Surprised the FAA was OK with it.

FAA had no say in the matter. It happened in Canada.

Early testing of drones were launched from the roof of an old car. They needed a little help getting air speed up for take off. Landing was with a net strung between what looked like a football goal post, but smaller.

I guess he didn't want it to fly, until he really wanted it to fly.
