Do you really need a V8?

Save your $$$$ you really don't need a V8 Duramax/Allison to haul a V-Nose.....well that was what my DW was hoping for Click image for larger version

Well the RAV 4 4 cylinder engine is only rated to tow 1500 pounds, and the 6 cylinder engine is only rated to 2000 pounds without the tow package and with the tow package 3500. I tow a small aluminium boat with my RAV 4 4 cylinder and it is all the Toyota wants for sure. Also the shorter wheel base of the TV the more problems towing, the Toyota is a very short wheel base. I would not recommend this towing arrangement.

Just make sure you do a tire upgrade to a set of LT's on the RAV and you will be good to go!

No you don't need a V8. My truck is a little ol' six cylinder and does just fine!

Funny!

One of these days, I'm going to park my iQ in front of Rocky and take a pic....yep, a 1.3 liter engine CAN tow 8,000 pounds! (NOT!)
