Fender skirts - had them on my 1953 and 1957 Chevy.
Curb feeler - had them on my 1953 Chevy.
Steering knob - not on any cars, but had one on an old Farmall M tractor.
Cont.kit - nope. I never liked them.
Emer.brake- sure. Always wondered why the old movies always had the driver pull the Emer.brake when parking.
Run.board - nope.

Also remember the chrome headlight half lids.

Points, plugs, rotor, distributor cap all these and my favorite timing light. Those days when you did backyard mechanicing, while hanging out with ya buddies talking about high performance engine components.

I remember nickel candy bars, bread loafs five for a dollar and that home made bread tasted better.

I remember when a case of oil was 24 cans not 12 plastic bottles. and you probably opened the cans with one of these.

Back in the days when I smoked a carton was 5 bucks and no one looked down on me for my habit.

I remember when 1.25 an hour was a fair wage and dawn to dusk was a work day.

What you call a steering knob was known to us as a "necker knob" since there was bench seats and you could have your squeeze next to you with your right are around her and you steer with the left, predates texting (and power steering). She could also shift the gears for you since your limbs were busy. A mention of a starter on the floor and/or headlight dimmer. When you had a steering knob on the tractor you had to hold on tight when going through any ditches because if it got loose it could spin the steering wheel and break your wrist. I had a 1939 John Deere A. Cigarettes were $1.20 a carton at the PX, gas was around .22 a gallon except during a gas war and then I filled the tank for .07 a gallon, that didn't even pay the tax so the station lost money (for a very short time). First job was for the Railway Postal Service was 1.10 per hour. I worked there for 4 years and old timers kept telling me to get a better job, they said this job was for teachers, farmers and failures so I left for greener pastures.

Although there were many local names for the steering wheel knob I believe universally it was known as a "suicide knob".

Ford Idaho, that was called a church key in my neck of the woods. Don't know why, the church doors were never locked back then.

I can't remember what it was called, but I did use one of them and there is probably one laying in the bottom of my tool box. Used one in the Army.

Some used them to open the first beer on the way home from church, don't ask!

Was that for your oil cans or beer cans?

I remember nickel cokes, 6 cent cokes, dime cokes, dime matinees at the theater, getting Gabby Hayes autograph, getting Bart Starr's autograph (22 years later, lol), .19 gasoline, 5 Texaco (you can trust your car to the man that wears the Star) guys filling up your car at .19 a gallon, the first dial phone, 3 year car loans, ipana toothpaste, Sputnik, and Reddy Killowat, but not anything that happened last Tuesday.

Heck, I even remember when supporters of both political parties were civil to each other!! LOL
