FEELS? HELL it IS like that - especially if I am dumb enough to roll through hotlanta on I75 instead of the bypasses! I'll not be doing THAT anytime again in the near future

Everyone talks about Atlanta traffic. Being from Chicago i laugh at Atlanta traffic! Went through on a friday afternoon around 3 and it was easy. Some atop and go, but nothing crazy!

I've lived in a suburb of Atlanta my whole life. When there is not a wreck it's great because the median speed is 80+ mph in the left lanes. However we have the worst case of rubber-neckers I've ever seen. At the first sign of blue lights, people slam on the brakes and quit paying attention to driving.

THAT'S the point! 7 or 8 lanes wide going 75+ bumper to bumper. Yikes!!

I live in Atlanta and I agree. After last years Goshen rally, we travelled through Chicago on our way to Green Bay. On a Sunday, it took us hours to get through the city at about 2 mph! The worst thing we have at home is the "Atlanta Swoop" (TM), in which the driver -- travelling in the leftmost lane at a high rate of speed -- suddenly cuts completely across the highway and exits. Extra points are given if the car barely makes the cut as evidenced by thrown gravel and debris. In Georgia, driving is not a skill -- it's a sport!

While towing my rig thru downtown Atlanta on I 65 Northbound I had a
guy cut from left to right directly in front of me.
I thought he was going to clip my bumper. I actually flinched and braced
for impact
He missed my front bumper by mere inches.
If he'd caught my bumper it would likely have turned him sideways in
front of me and we were in heavy traffic going 70+
It would have been VERY ugly with lots of cars involved and us right
in the middle of it.
The thought of it makes me sweat even now 2 years later....

Yep, you have had a first-hand experience with the Hot'Lanta Swoop. YA reason why I say Atlanta is worse'n anyplace else.
Chicago traffic bad? Pshaw I say! Doubtful you will get killed going 4 miles a hour creeping down the road.
Atlanta? shoot 70MPH is a SUGGESTION Add to that the Swoop, folks in Beemers driving like they were on the German Autobhan, and add to that the fact that making lane changes is almost impossible from Rome to Forsythe ( )...driving a rig through that mess is enough to drive ya to drink!

Came out of Stone Mountain yesterday heading north on 85. Was not too bad for 10am on a Sunday. Had my oh crap moment in Greenville when a big rig decided to stop on the side of the road and the lady in front of me almost took her self and me out in the process...
