Kinda hard to judge trucks based on lifted ones. They almost always have wider tires and that makes them extremely insensitive to small movements at the wheel. I've had tons of trucks that were lifted and or have had oversized tires, and my 7.3 ford was the worst handling and with smaller tires.

Funny thing is, being primarily a Gm driver my whole life, I'd never heard about "death wobble" untill a dodge 1 ton about took me out on i40 several years back. Now i am hearing about it all the time. One guy in my campground has spent close to 3 grand trying to fix his dodge 2500 to no avail.
Funny thing is all the Dodge guys ive been around said that price was the only reason why they bought a dodge over a gm....but i guess they need all that extra cash to put back into them rams!!! lol

When i sold my old duramax a few months ago, almost everyone that called about it was a dodge owner wanting to trade in their dodge or were prior dodge owners. I was seeing a trend. To bad it sold so quick, it was pretty humorous!!

I've heard that, but some people wont leave them stock, so i venture a guess the problem will show up in some circumstances.

It's not the fact that it's lifted, it's the lift kit that is junk! This is my second lifted Chevy. The first one had a Fabtech lift. Never had a problem with it. It went 140k miles with 35" tires before it started wearing out parts. And I felt that it drove better lifted than stock.

The truck I have now has been a money pit repairing the front end. The UCA's have uniball ball joint. They wear out and need replaced every 8-10 thousand miles. The last set I drilled a hole in them and added a grease zerk. It didn't help. Also, the drop down center link uses hyme joints. They only last about 15k miles. When all the parts are new it drives fine, but that isn't very often. It's one of those deals where I have contacted the company that makes the lift and they tell me I am the first to have these issues. But when I search the 4x4 forums there are tons of threads with the same issues.

Interesting sotry happened yesterday. A coworker and i ran to grab some breakfast and on the way back (in his 1500 RAM Hemi), rigt before we turned into our office parkinglot, we passed what looked to be a early 2000 model Chevy 2500HD Dmax in really really "used" comdition. When we passed him my coworker said "check out the camber on those front tires". Clearly they had been adjusted quite abit and the tires had a really steep lean to them. After parking, we got out of the truck and looked back at the road and the Chevy was in what appeared to be an avcident with a small honda. But after a few minutes we realized that the Honda simply had stopped to help the driver of the Chevy. Apparently, the driveshaft had broken loose of the transmission, it then fell forward and dug into the ground causing a huge amount of force to be asserted against the rear differental. The back axle had actually displaced about 6" to one side. I went to help and noticed the smell of diesel fuel when i got close. Apparently the tank ruptured and was spilling diesel everywhere. A few minutes later a firetruck pulled up along with a cruiser and a EMS to clean up the scene. The driver of the truck looked to be in his mid 80s and i really felt bad for the guy. I was going to snap a picture and post it here for a anti chevy joke, but better judgwment towards a crappy situation the poor guy was experiencing told me otherwise.

Im really lovin this thread!!

@ ironcobra- that would suck. Bet that poor guy never thought to have the u joints changed, and they were probably the original ones too.
Preventative maintenance goes along way with any machine.
