I've always had F350's for the last 20 plus years. Now we own our 1st 2015 Ram 3500 dually 4x4 long bed Crew Cab 6.7L 3.73 axle coupled with the Aisin transmission. We have about 4300 miles on it with 3500 miles towing 18,000 lb. 5er. It doesn't slow down for hills like my Ford did, has a lot better total setup of gauges, love the engine break, and it is very quiet ride.
Do it like it better than my other F350's I've had? I really can't determine that just yet both have pros and cons,
F350 diesel's engine and power train come with 50,000 mile warranty and Ram diesel engine and power train come with 100,000 miles so if nothing else I have went with a manufacturer that considers there 1 Ton to be more reliable. Warranty, body styling, interior styling, and gauge set up was my deciding factor. I have a 40 foot barn so it's parking in there. I like it so far so time will tell if my Ram choice was a good one or not. I think they are all way to expensive but what you going to do. It get 14 to 16 non towing depending on my foot weight that day. LOL
Towing it gets 9 to 11 depending on hills. It burns about 1 gallon of DEF for every 50 gallons of diesel. The stereo works really good we like to crank it up but my Ford stereo was good also. My Ford's never gave me an issue so we will see if this Ram does. As much as these big tow trucks cost I won't hessit to trade it off if it does. I'm not to loyal to any I just want no issues because I do maintain them very well and there price makes me unloyal to anyone brand. All I know for sure is this Ram tows my 42' 18,000# 5er a lot better than my F350 did but it was 12 years old and back then weren't rated for 20,000#. So I can't bash my old Ford's either. We like the Ram Cummins so time will tell.

Just a clarification, the Ford warranty for power train is 3 year 60,000 and Diesel engine is 5 year 100,000 miles. I did however purchase a Ford factory extended which gives me 7 year 125,000 bumper to pumper, including towing.

Had a 2005 Ford 3/4 ton 4WD Crew Cab....everything broke on it. Power seat, power sliding rear window, CD player, electronic 4WD, PS pump, etc...bought a 2010 Ram and not one problem. Just bought a 3/4 ton Chevy. I'm trying them all! Really liked the Ram, but the Chevy is much better equipped and I got the best deal compared to another Ram. Wouldn't even consider another Ford. But, that's just me.

Same here. 7 Years warranty and when purchased with a Maintenance plan that was half price so well worth it.

Sorry guess the salesman fed me the wrong information I was talking to but I'm not surprised cause salesman seldom know much about what they are selling.
Trying this Ram 3500 out and see how it goes this time around.

Is it possible that it was the Dodge salesman that "informed" you? A little O/T, but does anyone else HATE when a salesman says something smart-alecky about another brand? Was looking at a Dodge several weeks back and told the salesman I'd had a 6.7PSD in the past and was now driving an EB. He responded with "I'm sorry." Bought an F250 with a 6.7PSD a few weeks later.

We looked at the Ram 3500, even considered it. The local dealer wouldn't discuss price other than sticker. We get the Ford family discount so it was kinda a no brainier. I won't admit it to certain forum members, but the Ram it a good truck.

Come out to Oregon. All Ram 2500-3500's are deeply discounted. $9-10,000 off MSRP. Don't even have to go to the dealer. Prices are posted on their web sites.
Ford will advertise $10,000 discounts several times a year around hear. Only issue with Ford in the town I live in is there's only one dealer. Same with the other brands. Always have to go out of town to get a decent deal.

This is a funny thread. ANY intelligent person knows that you can get ANY truck stuck, that you can get almost any OTHER truck to pull it out (regardless of brand). That you can pull almost ANY trailer with even a Hyundai Elantra if it's on flat ground with no resistance. I bet you I could probably get a locamotive moving with a Toyota Tacoma if the conditions were perfect.
Bascially what I'm saying is that it is almost comical to assume in real world use that 1 truck is vastly better than another. Unless you are comparing a new truck to an old one.
I bought my F450 because I like a few really great features that both GM and RAM didn't offer. I like my towing mirrors and manstep. I also like that i didn't have to go through 44 RAM configurations to get one with a magical 30k towing capacity. GM doesn't even offer a truck that can tow 25k...so that ruled them out. From an RV perspective, any of them could tow my trailer, but from my Texas Ranch, only Ford or RAM had the Legal numbers to tow the hay bales and tractor/trailer combo.
You go into a RAM dealership and you'll find a sales person telling you ALL their 2500/3500 trucks can tow 32410lbs. Bunch of liers. When you get an 2015/16 F450 Pickup you get the 32,400lb capacity, Crew Cab, Long Bed, Dually, 4wd in all trim levels. You also get a Dana S130D Axle! In order to get the max tow (32410) with a RAM, you need to have the 2wd, Long Bed, Regular Cab, with Aisin Tranmission, and a few other options. NOT the setup that most would purchase unless it were strickly a farm truck.
All that being said...... I'm a Ford guy for now.
Afterall, who does EarthRoamer use for their chassis

Unfortunately the area we live in is the automotive capital with the corporate headquarters of the big three. With all the auto workers it's pretty much employee discounts or nothing. Occasionally there will be extra sale promotions but rarely on large trucks.
