Found this and figured I would throw it out there . For the record I am not loyal to any one brand.

the Cummins are easy to work on , transplant, and cheaper for parts to make go fast with. that is why they are in mags more..

Did you know that Cummins is owned by Ford! I find it odd that Dodge puts a Ford diesel in all of their trucks!

Cummins Inc. is a NYSE publicly traded company under CMI, and is not owned by any other company or individual. ford held a small % of stock but did not own them

By doing some research I have found that at different times Cummins has had their hands in making the diesels in all of the three major brands.

I do not deny that Cummins is a great engine! I would most likely own one now if not for the fact of the emissions systems not being such a great match with the 6.7. I feel that right now Ford has the best match in components that work well together. With that being said if the Cummins still had the track record they had with the 5.9 with this 6.7 I would own one now.

I don't have a dog in this fight since I don't own a coal burner but an interview I heard a while ago with a Cummings rep on a podcast said Ford owned "controlling" interest in Cummings and both diesel engineering teams worked together to jointly build the new generation of diesels that both companies are using. I'm paraphrasing but it was something like, they both have designs incorporated from the other and thats what has helped both companies meet the new federal standards.

I think as we all stand here and have the "pissing" contest, the industry is VERY intertwined, including the overseas makers. Especially when you think a Tundra has a higher made/assembled in america percentage than the Silverado.

I guess the GM plant off van Slyke Rd, flint. MI does not exist. because thats is where my truck is made/assembled and their are prob 500 trucks in the lot as we speak right now, I drive by that plant everyday. As for the HD ram, yes... their is also a silverado plant in texas and indiana made by americans
