Man, I never do good with these Rorschach tests. I was going to say there was a pair of Siamese igloos ahead.

There was a story in the UK press a few months back about a road sign in Swansea, South Wales.

Local residents compained about heavy trucks driving through their neighborhood to a nearby distribution center instead of using the main road. The council agreed to put up a sign banning heavy vehicles.

In accordance with English/Welsh language rules, the sign was made bi-lingual. Using standard procedure, the English version was sent by e-mail to a translator to get the Welsh wording. The answer came back very promptly, the sign was made and installed.

Shortly afterwards a citizen called and asked if anyone knew what the Welsh wording actually said. Nobody in the sign department spoke or read Welsh. The citizen translated the Welsh wording for them. It said "I'm on vaction this week and I'll get back to you as soon as I return."

Hmmm, I wonder how many times they have had to replace that sign because it had stolen (CodeRider says to himself) 😜

Turns out this IS an international symbol for "road humps"

Here is the sign for 1 row of humps.

More suitable to A cup size humps in the road.

In NB CANADA it means a double entrenchment in the road. I always wondered why holes in the road were never flagged with an upside down bump sign?
