I don't think its in my best interest to admit this but...

Several years I met up and joined my family on a camping trip in the mountains. Shortly after arriving I was asked what I thought about the campground. I replied back about the trees were nice but that I was expecting more concrete. Everyone had a field day with that comment.

The reason for my concrete comment was that I had viewed a video of another campground that had sidewalks around the little shopping center, showers and surrounding area.

Posting in a forum for comment is asking.

I didn't say they weren't funny, I just don't believe they are actual comments from backpackers submitted on written forms to the forest service. It seems a tad far-fetched to me. Stolen pickles? Escalators? It seems absurdly provocative.

It seems backpackers feedback would be a bit less so, not complaints the air conditioning in the woods is malfunctioning, please have it fixed before my next hike. Or, it's too dark to hike at night, can we add street lights in all the trails for higher visibility. See? I can make up a bunch of these absurd comments too! Lol.

Yeah, the one about the chair-lift probably was.

My favorite: “The coyotes made too much noise last night and kept me awake. Please eradicate these annoying animals.”

I can believe 'em, every one of 'em. I've run in to some real humdingin' goof balls in my travels.

Having lived all my life in the country it was a real culture shock to me when I moved from my little small town to TAMPA BAY! when I was 40. When the twin towers fell I was working in one of the tallest buildings in the bay, (city government) and the dingbats who decided to protest gathered around our building.

I guess it never occurred to them that *city* government didn't have a dang thing to do with Bush's decision to retaliate. We have to be escorted through a gauntlet by security every morning, dodging spit and cups full of coffee.

I couldn't WAIT to get back home (moved back a month later) to where I could get my bare feet back in the dirt and grow my own flowers and veggies, grow my own beef and pork.

The people in those grocery stores didn't even know that Filet Gumbo was!!!!

LOL well now, they probably thought it was like a "concrete pond". (a la Ellie Mae)

Or one of those water falls in the lobbies in Vegas.

I have met a few interesting folks - I would hope a lot of these were comments tongue in cheek, but not all.
I met a couple in a park named Ricketts Glen here in PA.
Matching jogging suits and the lady was wearing heels. The park website says "The trails follow along 21 beautiful waterfalls ranging in heights from 11 feet to 94 feet. The scenery is well worth the effort, however, the terrain is rocky, can be slippery, and descends steeply on both the Ganoga and Glen Leigh sides. Hikers should take extra precautions with trail conditions, wear proper footwear, stay on the trail, and be in good physical condition." She may have been the one looking for an escalator.

(BTW - one of the best trails to take pics)
