gremlins and electric toothbrushes
some of you may remember me from the black hole story from our rockwood 2304s murphy bed. this is the same trailer. we had just loaded the trailer and were en route to tofino bc. this is a spectacular part of west vancouver island, somewhat isolated and definitely not a place where you would find rv expertise. we had just fueled up, preparing for the 90 mile jaunt across vancouver island. i happened to be in the trailer, snugging things down when i heard a strange buzzing sound emitting from the general location of the converter. the last thing i wanted to have a problem with was this, so i headed for the last rv repair outlet available. just before i stopped there, hoping to avoid the substantial outlet of cash as soon as i turned the trailer over to the techs, i pulled over to try to deduce the problem. i disconnecte the battery and still i heard the persistent buzz. my wife was "hovering" as she often doe when i am deep in analysis. i heard her digging around in a bathroom drawer, which was also adjacent to the converter. just as i was about to surrender to the techs, wife pulled an electric toothbrush from the drawer, which had been activated by some sort of bump and the source of the buzz. i am so thankful we were not subjected to the ridicule of the rv techs when they would have discovered the problem. i am now insisting on manual toothbrushes when we rv.
