Horrific Flying Mishap
My ex-wife started taking flying lessons about the time our divorce started and she got her license shortly before our divorce was final, later that same year.
Yesterday afternoon, she narrowly escaped injury in the aircraft she was piloting when she was forced to make an emergency landing in Southern Tennessee because of bad weather.
Thank God our kids were with me this weekend.
The NTSB issued a preliminary report, citing pilot error: Judy was flying a single engine aircraft in IFR (instrument flight rating) conditions while only having obtained a VFR (visual flight rating) rating.
The absence of a post-crash fire was likely due to insufficient fuel on board.
No one on the ground was injured.
The photograph below was taken at the scene and shows the extent of damage to her aircraft.
She was very lucky.

A small two-seater Cessna 152 plane crashed into a cemetery early this afternoon.
Search and rescue workers have found two survivors and recovered 300 bodies so far and expect that number to climb as digging continues into the evening.

Looks like the aircraft doesn't have any Nationality and Registration markings as required by 14 CFR 45 and 47 either.

Why oh why did I know you were going to bring "Tail numbers" into this?
I'm going on the assumption that the incident aircraft was a civil U.S.aircraft based on the following:
1. The NTSB investigated - the NTSB doesn't normally investigate military aircraft accidents (although they can) so I'm assuming it was a civil aircraft.
2. It was a single engine airplane - not completely sure, but I don't think any branch of the U.S.military flies any single airplanes anymore, other than Drones. So I have to come back to it was a U.S.civil aircraft.
And as I pointed out to you several times in the not so distant past, Tail numbers usually pertain to military aircraft.
It's Sunday and I'm watching football, so I'm not going to waste time repeating this to you again.

By magnifying the picture, you can see the last no. is exposed.
Let's not stoop to name calling here!

Really? What about the rest of the numbers? You're going to make an assumption just by supposedly see one number? You're going to need more than that.
Question - where on an airplane fuselage are the Nationally and Registration marks required to be displayed?

Sec. 45.25 Location of marks on fixed-wing aircraft.
(a) The operator of a fixed-wing aircraft shall display the required marks
on either the vertical tail surfaces or the sides of the fuselage, except as
provided in Sec. 45.29(f).
(b) The marks required by paragraph (a) of this section shall be displayed
as follows:
(1) If displayed on the vertical tail surfaces, horizontally on both
surfaces, horizontally on both surfaces of a single vertical tail or on the
outer surfaces of a multivertical tail. However, on aircraft on which marks
at least 3 inches high may be displayed in accordance with Sec. 45.29(b)(1),
the marks may be displayed vertically on the vertical tail surfaces.
(2) If displayed on the fuselage surfaces, horizontally on both sides of
the fuselage between the trailing edge of the wing and the leading edge of
the horizontal stabilizer. However, if engine pods or other appurtenances are
located in this area and are an integral part of the fuselage side surfaces,
the operator may place the marks on those pods or appurtenances.

Very good. I used to work at a Dodge dealer and the office manager was a real "witch" well she had a dealer car with dealer plates, everyone always had the same plate number year after year. One day we thought it funny to put her plate number on the broom in the office closet. She never did catch on to it! But we all thought it was hilarious!
