NOW we know that is what loving parents were all about! Wish that more of today's parents were smart enough and caring enough for tough love like that! Our parents really were the greatest generation.

Herk, as Yogi Berra would say, "It's deja vu all over again."

Regarding the last entry, it's a fact that grandkids are the very best revenge. Cindy put the "I hope some day you have one just like you" curse on one of our daughters. She now has four daughters of her own. We just smile.

(I will admit, though, that it's my completely unbiased opinion that all four of them are wonderful. )

I just realized I was home schooled

Sounds like my almost 11 year old. I tell him when he can afford to feed, cloth, house and transport himself I'll take his opinion, until then he gets to live by my rules. H was being a dive with clothes the other day, told him to put something on or I'd toss his clothes in the Goodwill pile, take him to KMart and get him 3 pair of jeans and 7 plain white t-shirts. He looked at me like I just kicked his puppy. Guess we'll have to tone down the spoiling lol

My daughter asked if she had to do her chores EVERY day. We told her no, just on the days you want to eat.

Um yeah, I think my teacher retired. She just fed a bowl of chocolate syrup and whipped cream with some ice cream in it to my child that didn't finish her dinner. When I tried to say she needed to finish eating dinner to get desert my mother told me this is granny's house and she gets desert. As a child I was expected to eat everything on my plate because there were starving children in Africa.
