Yep, except in my case, we went outside to turn the pole-mounted antenna by hand.

What is so stupid is my oldest GD will text her husband sitting next to her on the couch. Kids have been coddled so much in the last 20 -30 yrs and their parents think they are doing them a favor and we wonder why the world is going to He** in a handbag.

In light of the world situation as it is today, YES, those WERE the good old days.

Depends on your POV. Crime is down. People are living longer. Medical and technological sciences are increasing at an exponential rate. I'd say we live in a pretty good time right now.

1960 total crime 1.9% 2013 total crime 3.09% according to your data.

And we never had all the fancy home alarms, car alarms, surveillance cameras, TSA, etc...

Would also like to see the numbers from 1940-1960.

Yup, I was born in late 60s and gone though most of the stuff you all were talking about. My sister and I kept some items from back then. We have a floor model radio with a record player inside the cabinet, boy do I love the sound of those old speakers. Deep resonance coming the speakers.

As for my son, he is 12 now but I have gotten him involved with little league baseball and Boyscouts. So he spends a lot less time on video games. More time outdoors for him.
