People are idiots at Pismo.

Also, lot of rusty RVs and trucks unless you do a good job of cleaning.

Nope, Pismo.
Lots of pics of stuck vehicles there, online.
Just Google "stuck vehicles pismo" and look at the images.

Believe or not, there are some that do that, at Pismo.

Pismo State Beach & Oceano Dunes SVRA

California State Parks manages all this area and is unique in that you can drive your vehicle right down onto the beach and camp there. Weekends and holidays, especially the 4th of July War Zone, get pretty crazy.

The beach is wide and flat and the tide comes in quickly. When I was a bored college student there many years ago, I used to go and watch the tow truck drivers make good money pulling out stuck vehicles.

I stand corrected. Got to be Pismo Beach. We will pass through there next summer. Should be fun seeing stuck campers.

If you are looking for a great campground, check out Pismo Coast Village. We love it there, but it does get crowded during the summer and you need to make reservations early. I routinely walk the beach down to the Oceano Dunes SVRA. Fun to watch the craziness.

Glad you like PCV. You will see a lot of that "More Money Than Brains" illness out in that Oceano Dunes SVRA.

PCV is crowded with people right on top of each other. I much prefer the state campground.

Thank you. Glad to know of Pismo camping spots. I will read up on them before we head down the coast next summer, staying on paved roads of course.

You see the trucks and trailers that go in there a lot and they are rusty hulks.

What really cracks me up are the Einsteins that actually drive along the water line in a few inches of water spraying the entire underside of their vehicle.

Stay in the dry sand I lived in Southern CA and we only averaged about 10 inches of rain a year and it wasn't my daily driver and sat in a garage so my truck didn't see much wet weather period but when I did take it off the road I enjoyed it

Look at all the salt they use on the roads in the Winter here on the East coast.....Do people not drive their cars or trucks and sit at home ?
