DEC25 means Decimal 25 - so the number 25.
OCT31 means Octal 31 - which is 25
it also works in hexadecimal.

Me too but, then again, I'm not a Cyber Phrenologist. Hey Radio, does that mean you go around feeling the bumps on the heads of little Cybers?
Help me out, I'm really confused about that.
I'm too lazy to do the research, but different calendars might be one answer.

Amazing, the things you can come up with by doing a quick Internet search.
PS This also answers the why it belongs in "Jokes" question.

Someone once said something to the effect of, " You don't need to know the answer to the question, just where to find it."

What I do for for a living is integrate (aquire expensive boxes and make even more expensive systems out of them) and then test software the guys down the hall develop that is loaded on the system.
Phrenology is the theory that human behavior can be predicted by feeling and categorizing the lumps and bumps on a persons head.
Cyber-phrenology is the science of testing software and system diagnostics by feeling the lumps on the developers head. And if he doesn't fix his code to my satisfaction, then I may put a few more lumps on there.
