Redneck Camping

Today I took a road trip to Rochester NY and back home about a 7 hr trip. While on the trip near the end this is what I saw a true redneck with a motor home. On the back was 10 to 15 bales of hay strapped to the back of the motor home. Notice you can't see the tail lights or the license plate. The weight of the bales made the motor home so tail heavy that the guy driving was having troubles steering even at his blistering 20 to 30 mph on the highway. Thought I'd seen everything till this guess I will never see everything where the term stupidity comes to play, somebody always has to out do the last stupid thing you see.

My wife says they were going to make a redneck Hot tub ( hay bales and a blue tarp filled with water and a bunch of old men that just ate baked beans).

I'm gonna guess he was on the way to setup his hunting camp and will use the hay as skirting, horse fodder and camp furniture.

Everything for a RV should serve more than one purpose.

Any way you call it, its unsafe and if you want do do stupid things like this do it where it can't hurt others not on the public roads all it would take is one of those bales to fall into the other lane and an oncoming car doing the speed limit (55 mph) on this road and somebodies dead and your going to jail for negligent homicide.

Wonder why he didn't have the horse sit up front to help balance the weight.

The horse was in back too, trying to get to the hay...........

On another forum someone wanted to haul horses in a toyhauler so who knows it could have been in there too........

The best of this he could have pulled a utility trailer behind the motor home, finding a way to strap all this hay to the back had to be harder than hooking up a utility trailer. Remember never mess with a crazy person.

Here's one I saw today on a trip to Canada, we decided to take the ferry over instead of the bridge and today that was a mistake but I wouldn't have seen this if I hadn't gone that way. Now mind you they took this motor home that was too big to fit on the ferry and if you look there is a black trailer on the ferry and the motor home once off the ferry got hooked up to the trailer. Not exactly what I want to do with my motor home have it hanging over the side of a ferry in 100 ft of water.

Hmmm.... you'd think they might have done this before.

Did a car like this a few years ago and lost it in about 20 ft of water. Hope the guy with the motor home gave the guys on the ferry a good tip they had to roll the trailer off using a dolly and pushing it by hand.

I took the ferry to Washington Island in Door County, WI about 28 years ago. Their ferry's are a bit smaller than the one in your pic. They had a MH on it's sister ferry coming back from the island, but they had the MH loaded on "properly," along with another half dozen cars. The scary thing was there were about 4-5 ft waves and that ferry was porpoise'ing like mad. We were on the other ferry going the other direction when we passed them, equally porpoise'ing. My wife was about 5 months pregnant. She was not a happy boater, if you know what I mean!
