Please excuse my good friend B .
He's from the south and doesn't grasp things as fast as northern folk but I like him just the same!

That's true, Al, but try explaining it to the lion. It really comes down to the old adage, "I don't have to outrun the lion, I just have to outrun you."

I hate to nitpick, but for clarity's sake are we talking about an African elephant or an Asian elephant?

All this talk about velocity and speed is trivial. What I want to know is how in the heck some guy managed to catch up and pass the lion, ignore the elephant, match the speed of my galloping horse, and then demand a ticket from me. I didn't have a ticket but he did settle for two swigs from my flask. Last I saw of him, he had outrun the kangaroo and was hassling two people in a chariot he caught up with. That guy was fast.

There was a giraffe in there somewhere, so it must be African. Why didn't you have a ticket? Did you sneek on? What kind of example is that for the grandkids?

OK, here you go

You find yourself on a perfectly circular race track in the fastest race car ever made. The car can instantly accelerate from zero to any speed.

If you hit the gas and drive half way around the track at 30 MPH, how fast would you have to drive on the second half of the track to average 60 MPH for the entire track?

Tick Tock ...

90. The average speed (60) = (30+90)/2

How long is the track?
And degree of banking?
