Several PMs, but so far no winner.

FYI, 90 MPH is not correct.

It is impossible you cannot go fast enough to average 60 miles per hour if you only go 30 MPH for the first half of the drive. JT

Yes, this part has been solved. Scroll down to see the current challenge.

New riddle - Same as the old riddle except:

Drive first half at 45 MPH - How fast on the second half to average 60 MPH.

A FREE Herkbrary DVD to first one to PM me the correct answer.

Obviously did not read entire thread will do that tonight after I go make the donuts. Does your riddle obey conventional wisdom that average rate of speed equals distance divided by time or are we on a merry-go-round? JT

OK, guys.

Made a mistake last night in a MPH conversion.

The correct answer IS 90 MPH and QCCowboy was first with that answer.
His DVD will be sent as soon as I get a mailing address.

Again assume a 2 mile track to keep the math simple.
D=VT (or T=D/V or V=D/T)

1 mile at 45 MPH takes (1/45)= 0.2222... hours

2 miles at 60 MPH takes (2/60) = 0.03333... hours

Time left to finish race = 0.01111... hours.

Find V = 1/0.01111... = 90 MPH

Never argue math with the QCCowboy! That man got this sh*t down!

Congrats!!!
