I'm always ready for the salesperson to get up after we agree on a price and says "I'll just have to get the sales manager to agree" and off he/she goes to smoke a cigarette and then comes back and says the manager can't do the deal at price.

Sales Gimmicks, lets hear them!

We shopped locally and found the model we wanted, but it had the wrong woodwork so we never got to money talk. I found one 150 miles from home and called them. I asked what was their bottom price, as expected, it was too high. I made an offer that I thought was fair, they said no. I said, ok, call me if you change your mind... my phone rang 15 minutes later.

Even more so than with cars, you have to be prepared to walk away.
