Heck we need those Miller's while shopping.... got have this kind of paper, 1" plastic binder, x number of composition books, pocket folders to go in binder plastic not paper but nobody has the plastic kind. Then they divide the list up... if you have a girl in 3rd grade whose last name begins with a through h then buy hand sanitizer for the classroom. If you have a boy with the name beginning I through n then you buy tissues for the classroom and the list goes on.

I have always enjoyed reading about "where back to school items come from" and I have also had as a second responsibility, supervise supply purchasing in a local company office with over 1500 employees.
For a long time while the company was privately owned. it was overlooked as they thought the ladies that were not paid as well as the men could have the benefit of the supplies, at this time of year. This was an "old boys" company that carried that attitude.
Once they sold out, this was cause for strict reporting and termination. Since the early 90's things have changed for school requirements, the only thing for me to order extra was notepads, pencils and pens.
Heck I still have a box full that I thought I needed for my home office that are now 15 years old. The pens have all but died.
If you need paper clips send me a PM. I can hook you up.

I'm soo glad I'm mostly out of that chore now. My youngest is starting HS this year and they are pretty much out of the need for baby wipes and paper towels. Although they still request donations of dry erase markers for the white boards.
They still give out the supply lists but for the most part we'll just be giving her the "usual" stuff. Pens, pencils, paper, folders, maybe some highlighters. We have a big tub of school supplies in our garage that we have built up over the years.

For those of you who miss purchasing back to school supplies, most schools have needy kids who can benefit from book bags, paper, crayons, pens, pencils, paper, and notebooks of all kinds. I have seen some good sales, including folders for ten cents and pencil boxes for 97 cents. Tax free days occur in a many states, which makes your money stretch further. Buy some supplies and drop them off at any school. You will be thanked!!!

I always said Millers is the "training bra" of beers. I think this proves it.

Many churches collect them too. The hospital I work for had a collection box as well.

My church collects school supplies - especially backpacks - to be given out on August 14 this year.

Saw Animal House in the winter 78-79 and we snuck a 12pack in to the theatre hidden in our winter coats. (sorry off topic).

Having young kids in the house means strange lists... what ever happened to the school furnishing stuff. How can each kid need 2 boxes of tissues? Next they will have to bring TP.
