Since Doug got us all so well, I thought it would be good for everyone to actually know how April Fools, came in to popular culture.
Why is April 1st called Fool's Day?
It's actually named after a wealthy Englishman name Stephen April, who was born in 1789 on April 1.
He started as many as 105 different businesses, that all failed. He lost all of his father's inheritance in these failed ventures and laughingly became known as the Father of Fools.
At the age of 19, he married a 61 year old widower, who divorced him after only a year of marriage due to all his foolish decisions. He used to read all kind of fake stories like you are doing now. So you probably just fell for another one. Happy April Fool's Day.
