Taxi Home

With the holidays upon us I would like to share my experience with family & friends about drinking and driving. Well, a couple days ago I was out for an evening with friends and had several drinks, followed by some Cabernet wine. Feeling pretty good, I still had the sense to know that I might be over the limit. That's when I did something that I've never done before ... I took a local Taxi home! Sure enough on the way home there were two police cars and a State cop close together stopping the cars, but since it was a taxi, they waved it past. I arrived home safely without incident. This was a real relief and surprise because I had never driven a taxi before. I don't even know where I got it and now that it's in my garage I don't know what to do with it!!!

There was this taxi story in one of the UK newspapers a few weeks ago. A woman had hailed a taxi to go home from the railroad station. After a couple of miles, she had a question for the driver and tapped him on the shoulder.

He was very startled and almost ran off the road. She started to apologise but the driver responded "It's not your fault Ma'am. This is my first day driving a cab. I've always driven hearses before."
