Mid 60's yesterday (Monday) in Raleigh, NC. Calling for 3-6 inches of snow today. Back up into the 50's this weekend. Got to love the seasons around here.

Heh...we had ice covering all of SE Texas last Friday, temps down to mid 20's. Sunday was 70 degrees. Tuesday (today) is ice all over SE Texas and temps expected to go to mid 20's again. And it will be in the 70's by Friday! Sheesh!

OC: Were you living in N.C. in the late 1950's and early 1960's? Winters here were much, much worse then, as I recall. I remember a couple of back-to-back snowstorms that kept me out of school for two weeks. Now, people around here panic and wring their hands for a week ahead of time when there's a chance of even having flurries. And then again, some folks just head from N.C. to Florida for the winter....

Could one of you nice northern folks please close the door. We southern folks are really feeling a draft.

Thank you

I think DH are living in a state of grace right now. We're in the middle of a narrow swath along the I-20 corridor that is free of any precipitation.

It was amazing to see the weather maps on television last night. It's as if walls were up about 20 miles apart, right down that I-20 path...blue all above us, and pink south of us.

Right now it's 32 degrees with a 30% chance of light snow....none seen yet.....with a low tonight of 20 degrees...BUT come Thursday things are looking up.
Example: Friday, high of 68, low of 60

update, sigh.... February 5th: 43/28

Oh well, I'll just be positive and thankful that we're dodging all the nasty stuff right now.

Bassett, VA 50 degrees Monday...... 15 today Snow at 9AM forecast to just get flurries this afternoon . It is now 4:20 & have about 2" of flurries & still coming down . Coldest winter in a long time here.......... & I left the Midwest to get away from this....... or was it ......never mind.......

Our forecasters are great..... back in the 90s we were to get a "dusting" ended up with 10". To this day that weatherman will not say the word dusting in a forecast

Oh well it will be back in the 50s this weekend.........
