180RT with Golf Cart

Hi everyone!

First disclaimer: I’m not currently an owner but I AM looking to purchase Forest River in the next month. More specific, a Toy Hauler!

I have my eyes set on a 180RT model which I would pull the trigger on this week… but… I’m worried my golf cart may not fit. The opening looking to be roughly 8.1 feet and my cart if around 9 feet with it having a rear seat. I’ve seen a thread with one fella making it work by having the rear seat foot step fold up but I still don’t think it would work.

Has anyone had luck with my worries? I also see the 18RJB which may work as well? Pictures of how you made it work? I’m fine with being creative if needed

Side Note: I’m looking to keep it small and lightweight as I’m pulling with a V8 4Runner. Just staying cautious with the weight of the golf cart added in.

Thanks for taking the time to help if possible,
-Justin N

Welcome to the forum. looking at spec the width of trailer is only 7' 6". Don't see any inside dimensions. I would call someone that has one instock get the measurements. Later RJD

Good to know. The width of my cart is around 4 foot so should be good on that side! Thank you for the warm welcome!

I would be looking for something with a 10' garage as a minimum. I think you're likely going to have to get creative with anything less. You are going to want a little space to be able to tie down the cart.

Larger garage and and new TV.

The trailer you quote is 4850 lbs. Most trailers leaving the factory are heavier than advertised weight and don't include battery, propane or water.

The 4 Runner is underpowered for the trailer you need, you only have 5,000 tow capacity. With all the weight in the back this is a disaster waiting to happen.

Add in gas, yourself, family, stuff in the back. Way over the 4 Runner's Tow Capacity.

Do as you like but the numbers are not safe for you, family/dog, or anyone else.

I put my golf cart in my 180rt I don't have a back seat. But looking to add one. If you can make the step fold up it should fit. I love my 180rt.
