375AMP banana table fixed (for now)
While we love many things about our thunderbolt, the table is definitely not one of those things. First off, the table sat partially down the beaver tail portion of the garage making it unlevel when deployed normally. Also our 2015 table was badly bowed, as are most of them including in some new ones we walked through. To make things worse one of the legs broke the spot welds where it “Xs” together. Combine all of that with the annoyance of storing it I finally decided it was time to do some modifications.
First I temporarily straightened the table top using some angle iron from Lowe’s. I also purchased 2 “wheelbarrow storage brackets” and put some foam tape in them to cushion the edge. Finished off with a Minn Kota trolling motor strap and viola-table stowed!
I then removed the legs and installed two Sequoia legs with the flush plates on the floor. The results were so impressive I can’t understand why this is not the standard for these tables. Soon I will most likely replace the top with something nicer. Forgive the pics if they are sideways/inverted can’t figure the upload shift out.
