I pull ours with my 2015 ram 2500. I know a lot of people don't agree with it. I've done suspension mods and she pulls it like a champ with no issues. Even through a winter storm in 4 wheel drive doing 20 mph on the interstate. Happened on the way back from Utah. The spare tire was because I ran over a screw at the RV resort we stayed the night. I tell ya, the icy roads, winter storm conditions and the flat tire sure tested me haha! Loved every minute though!

I really like the side patio options and the 40D12 has the nicest one. Plus, everything appears great and all these positive Vengeance comments helps a lot.

As has been mentioned in other posts, Brad, the Vengeance rep is a great guy. The dealer we are talking with had Brad call me. He was great to talk with and last Friday, I left him a voicemail about the wheels of the Vengeance haulers being able to handle 110 psi G rated tires. He called me back today to tell me not only do they handle them, I can have them upgraded from the factory as an option.

If I do get a 40D12, a big reason will be for the service I'm getting "before" the sale.
40d12 was our choice because of the side patio but didn't sit well with my pocket book, I found the Road warrior 427 for a few thousand less that I ended up liking better than 40d12 after sitting several hours in each trailer at the dealership.

Ultimately the deciding factor was that I needed 14' hauling space and ended up with Vengeance 398v which was closer to my price range anyway and we absolutely love it with a few fixes to be completed this week.

Awesome. Sounds like a good choice for you. I don't need the 14' garage space. Almost always just a golf cart for us.

As for the Road Warrior. They look nice in the pictures. But after my nightmare Cyclone and dealing Heartland a couple years ago, I wouldn't have another Heartland product if it meant I had to sleep on the ground in a tent.

Junior25k,
That looks exactly like my 2015 Ram 2500hd.

You are right I don't know how a vehicle with a axle rating of 12.5k and a tire rating of 3740 lbs each can only have a 10k max weight.
In the future I plan on adding air bags to the rear and upgrading my th to a large 5th wheel.

Let the weight police holler! I truly believe the capacity of this vehicle is greatly under estimated.

Mel

Yes the air bags are awesome with the wireless control. I know they say air bags don't raise your truck's payload. I just think of it like 3500 dually leveling out it's load with air bags right lol! Same thing in my book.

I am taking mine to the dealer on the 18th for the safety recall and a the living room slide floor. A few other minor issues that I figure they should look at while it's there for the safety recall.
I also bought the Andersen Ultimate aluminum fifth wheel hitch so I will get to test that out since it's a three hour drive one way to the dealer.
I am ready to camp. Sick of winter and everything that goes with it up here in Iowa.

I had my airbags installed before I ever hooked up the TT so I have no idea of the difference they may make. However, I noticed a remarkable increase in stability with the unloaded truck after I put the bags on. There doesn't seem to be much difference in ride quality, but the bags also stopped the "wheel hopping" problem that happens if the rear end breaks traction on wet roads.

Let the air out and go for a tow. Then you'll know the difference if you're curious.

So you ride around with them filled all the time? What PSI do you keep them at?

Not filled all the time. Talked to AirLift about the pressures and they say the minimum pressure is 5 psi but they recommend 10 psi. I use 10 and don't notice any change in ride quality. Five psi won't quite stop the wheel hopping problem but 10 does. Before I hook up the TT I run them up to 35 psi.

Got surprised this winter a few times when I first turned on the ignition when the outside air temperature was about 20°. Startled me a little when the compressor kicked on (it is a little on the loud side).

Oh o.k. I thought you were riding around with them @ high pressure. That can make a rough ride, at least on mine it does. I keep them @ 5psi unless I have a load on. Even 10psi is a little jarring on my f350 dually.

The dealer got most of my problems fixed Friday and Saturday. The couch slide and the safety recall being the biggest things. The service guy even fixed the fridge switch. He noticed it never shut off and it bothered him while he was working on the glass door. He said the switch was "stuck". I wondered why it would never shut off but when I asked on the forums I was told it was auto shut off. If you press the button it is supposed to shut off. If it doesn't he showed me the screws to remove to take the switch box off and "wiggle" the switch to get it unstuck. Overall the service guy did an awesome job in the time that he had to fix all the warranty requests I had.
This was also my first tow with the Andersen Ultimate Aluminum fifth wheel hitch. Not very difficult to hook at all. The ride was very smooth. I do want to look into a air king pin to help reduce rough road jumping on the highway. On I-80 there where a few spots where the highway was bouncy. It got very annoying and I believe a better king pin would help reduce that vibration. The really nice thing is that when I store the camper I just loosen 3 bolts then remove the hitch (32 lbs) and put it into the garage of the camper.

Glad to hear that you got everything fixed. I had a leak in my garage/ living room ( see another thread that I started) . I believe that it is fixed now.

LB TN I saw that. I need to look at your pictures closer (had jury duty this week) to make sure I don't have the same issue in mine.
Just curious but I noticed the exhaust on the truck is louder when I have the camper hooked up. I assume this is normal? I mainly noticed it when slowing down. When I let my foot off the gas and let the engine do the braking. It was louder, only way I can think to describe it.
Also LB TN we are planning a trip to Deals Gap. We will be coming through TN in Late July early August.

As far as your truck to me that all sounds normal. It's what they call turbo/ exhaust braking when slowing down it should sound like a big rig, hopefully that makes sense.
