Curt q20 #16131

Hello...

I bought my truck & now I am onto the hitch... I plan upon towing about 13000lbs on about a 35' trailer....using a fifth wheel....

Looking at this Curt Q20 fifth wheel hitch.....model stock # 136131....

Can i get any feedback on this unit? lists for $1245 however, i have seen is for sale around $600.....

Thanks in advance for your replies....

Sam from FL

PS the truck is a 2015 3500HD w 8'box

I have the Ram version Q20. Same hitch with the Ram logo on it.
I tow a 38' 16 K pounds toy hauler , works great! Have not had any issues on 2800 miles.

I bought my Q20 about 2yrs ago for under $400 online. It's a great hitch and there's no denying if its hitched or not. This was without rails of course.

Go with a Goose Neck hitch and add an adaptor to your trailer. Stronger and more convenient at a lower cost.

If use a ball in the bed hitch (goose neck), you must use safety chains; with a 5th wheel you do not. There is a reason this is so. A quick Google will explain it better than I.

Goose neck's are popular in farm country because the bed is still free for hay bales, etc with the hitch ball installed. Most horse trailers are goose neck type for this reason.

You are on the right path with a 5th wheel hitch for a camper. There are many types that can be quickly removed for an empty bed by pulling a few pins.

I have had no problems with this hitch. I keep it lubed and the mounting bolts tight. Very good IMHO. Bought it almost 2 years ago for about $600.

just the HITCH & RAILS, etc w/ little parts...from CURT.

I checked yesterday on Amazon & the cheapest I found was about $550.00 w/ rails,,, shipped.

I have the Chevy optional electronic brake controller built in... as well as the 7 way plug at the bumper....maybe I will need an extension???

I got the B&W turnover ball gooseneck hitch with a Companion fifth wheel hitch. EZ to pull the fifth wheel hitch out and have a flat bed, or install the ball and have a gooseneck. 10,000 miles of towing and no problems.
