Garage Living Room

I have a question for all of you folks that have a toyhauler. I own a Forest River Aframe now but looking at purchasing a toyhauler so that I can carry my trike for longer trips....perhaps full timing in future.

One of the things I don't like about toyhaulers is that unless you get somewhere near 40' length the garage takes almost all of your living room space. The ones I've seen have a large couch across from the kitchen or the island in the kitchen. Neither my wife or I want to sit and look at the kitchen or island while relaxing.

My question is have any of you set your garage up as the Living Room once you have your toys unloaded? I don't mean just move a couple of chairs into the garage and call it the living room...I mean fix it up nice where it looks like a living room in an RV but able to move things around to get your toys back in once traveling.

I'm looking at buying one not over 35' long. Any ideas or pictures would be great or any suggestions.

Thanks

David

My toyhauler doesn't have a separate garage so yes we use ours for living space. I have a grey wolf 26rr. Looks more like a regular trailer. You can look under the thread pimp my 26 rr to see some pics. I love mine. Click image for larger version

We haul kayaks and just got a Boston Whaler( haven't loaded it yet) in our garage. Then when we get to where we are going the garage is used as a dinning room and a bedroom, if the kids come along. But we are over 40ft long.

Thats the reason I sold my toy hauler. decided I wanted to ride or camp not do both at the same time. I was hauling around a 10 foot shed on the back of a 23 foot camper.

I have seen some very nice photos of garages done up very well.

Ours is 32' (fifth wheel) and open garage. The dining table is in the garage area and lifts up like the queen beds in other rigs. We have plenty of room when the toys are out.

Only problem we have with our state parks is making sure we reserve a spot early.

I use my garage for a dining room... computer room... and for sitting on the ramp enjoying the view, as well as another place to sit, away from TV watchers. Pics of a work in progress making it nicer... also insulated and added more outlets, added amperage, for heater and AC.
